(I am not in a position to allude to the results of the Examination held in June, 1896, as this was not under my supervision, but from what I know of the work in 1893 I have no reason to believe there was any deterioration.)
Mr. Jameson has been awarded a Personal Allowance of $240 per annum by the Government for knowledge of the Chinese Language, written and spoken; and has for the last two years, been engaged in teaching Book-keeping to special afternoon classes.
Mr. Jameson's method of teaching is characterised by a quite gentlemanly deportment, and the preservation of excellent discipline.
